Tried the alpha for Pcars 1, then I purchased it at release and got burned on it anyways.tried some of the current builds for Pcars 2. Honestly hardly feel like even pirating, because i know what to expect already. I'm well invested in F1 2017 anyways.I really hoped, with the first one, that we had gotten another big player in the racing game scene, but nope.

Not quite there. The 1st was run of the mill, i honestly didn't expect codemasters levels of polish etc on that one, but i was still pretty dissapointed.

But Pcars 2 was their chance to really shine and break through. Show us they can make AAA racing games. Sad it's a bit far from that.The LOD is hands down the worst ive seen in a racing game post 2010.Get ready for tonnes of flickering shadows.

The immersion is completely ruined. Doesn't help having a beefy GPU, it seems to be the LOD built into the lighting/graphics engine itself.Also get ready for stiff AI that still isn't truly ready for a fully released game, even the 2nd time around. Sad to say this game could easily use another 6 months to a year in the cooker. If they can show me some real polish post-release this time i might pick it up but it's really not worth retail price at the moment. They've got lots to learn still.

Not saying i can do better, i know i can't but when you ask full retail price, it should have that level of polish, content, and graphics. And as of right now,+ you're much better picking up the first at a discount, in that regard. It's of course just my opinion from what ive played so far. Also only have a pad (and Gyro) but no wheel, so conclusions are drawn with that ofc. One positive is that i didn't feel like i had to fuck around in the controls settings for fucking hours again to find controls that worked for me.I had so much hope. I do still hope Slightly Mad can actually pull off AAA titles in the future but i sadly didn't see that here. I also won't forget all the great times i had in Pcars 1 alpha, even if the game turned out to be lacklustre overall, but you have to be cynical in this current gaming industry.

I'll stick this one out and wait for the 7 post release patches they will do over the next year, and take it from there.Am by no means hating. Love SMS and they are probably the future of racing games if im being honest. I remember watching a podcast interview with Ian Bell (CEO) and he says aswell people will have to accept that fact, by the 3rd or 4th game.

A bit dissapointed in Ian as he said this time the game was ready to ship instead of.Pcars 1. Wich it is not but oh well. The world goes on. Ill probably check up on it a bit down the road.

I finished pCars 1(all the career disciplines) with a controller on pc. I've never understood why people complained about the controls, I got used to them pretty fast. But then again i am a SMS fanboy.Shift 2 was what got me from the arcade racing games to sims. I really loved it it had great damage and graphics on the PS3 but most importantly it had character.

I tried other arcade-sims like GT5 and Grid but they were shitI love hardcore sims but most are not worth it without a wheel.I really hope one is even better than the first iteration.
